WHAT'S SPECIAL IN ENGLISH OF THE VIETNAMESE AMERICAN DUAL DIPLOMA PROGRAM?

Education integration brings innovation to education and training programs at all levels in Vietnam. Accordingly, students can both learn English from an early age and have the opportunity to enjoy quality training from advanced education systems in the world.

For the Vietnamese American dual diploma program being taught at Xanh Tue Duc School, Hanoi, English is not considered a goal but a tool that helps students learn knowledge of other fields. The English program is built as a foundation for students to continuously develop competencies according to international language standards, the higher up level, the more challenging and more academic program.

English language art is built based on the standards of the Common Core State Standards program - USA, inherits the English program of Balboa School - California State, has been recompiled to suit the learning time and duration of Vietnamese students. The English program takes up a large amount of time, with the core subject being English Language Arts (ELA) to develop skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Language Functions. In addition, the ELL course is designed as part of the supplementary program for students who use English as a second language.

With this subject, the dual diploma program organizes teaching through experiential activities as well as interdisciplinary lessons to help students apply what they have learned from subjects to the English environment. In each lesson, teachers always create conditions for students to actively and positively participate in the lesson through various forms such as reading stories, telling stories, drawing pictures, analyzing texts, drawing mind-map, presenting, working in groups, etc. Especially, giving them the opportunity to communicate and use English in the classroom.
