Parents always want children to behave properly and politely, especially in public. However, teaching them lessons in manners can be challenging.
Children sometimes have impulsive behaviors, but they are also very carefree and emotional. Children often do not consider actions right or wrong or think before they speak. This is completely normal behavior. Most children will gradually change over time as they mature.
Teaching children how to take care of themselves, civilized and polite behavior is extremely necessary to create good virtues later, they will be easier to get along with and be loved and respected by everyone around them. In this article, Maple will suggest to parents some ways to teach children to behave politely in public.
TEACH YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT POLICY AT HOME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
1. Parents and family members should be the first to teach children about respect and politeness, by example and direct interactions with children:
2. Always say "thank you", "sorry" - Parents help children understand saying thank you at the right time and sincerely apologizing will show respect for everyone.
3. Eye contact - This shows focus, attentive listening, respect when we talk and exchange ideas.
4. Cover mouth when coughing or sneezing. - This is not only a matter of hygiene, but also a way of helping others feel safe and comfortable around us.
5. Always know how to queue, realize the importance of yielding and waiting for your turn.
6. Do not interrupt when people are talking. Children can have their own opinions and views but should be after everyone finishes speaking. Children need to listen actively, respect the feelings and views of others.
7. Do not speak loudly, or make noise in common spaces - Parents need to explain to their children that talking loudly or making noise will affect those around them.
8. Do not point your finger at others or use inappropriate words or titles to call others.
DISCUSS WITH YOUR CHILDREN AND SET CLEAR RULES BEFORE GOING OUT.
Parents should make sure that children understand and have an active attitude to implement those rules. Some suggestions for rules for children include:
1. Always go with parents, do not arbitrarily go anywhere alone.
2. If going to a supermarket or a store, parents and children need to agree in advance on the quantity and items the child will be buying.
3. Do not arbitrarily accept or follow strangers.
PARENTS ALWAYS NEED TO KEEP CALM AND NOT JUDGE THE ACTIONS OF CHILDREN.
Children may be very obedient at home and have been mentally prepared before going out, but when going to public places, children still do not follow the rules. In this case, the first thing that parents need to do is to always keep attention. Stay calm, don't yell or threaten.
1. If children do not follow one of the rules, parents should remind or warn them.
2. If children still behave in a negative way, take them to an area where there are few people. Then, let them wait for a few minutes, talk and analyze for them so that they have time to calm down and reflect on their own actions.
3. It is important to combine praise with discipline, which are useful methods for teaching manners to children.
