NOTIFICATION OF ENGLISH READING PROJECT "BOOK BUZZ"

Dear Parents,

In the journey to build the foundation of the English language, self-study ability and expand children's thinking, regular reading of English books is an extremely necessary activity. In order to maintain the reading habit and reading culture at Xanh Tue Duc School, the Project Committee of the Vietnamese - American Dual Diploma Program would like to send to parents the following information about the Reading Project BOOK BUZZ:

1. Project operation time:

From October 2022 to June 2023.

2. Operational form of the project:

Students who register to participate in the project each month will be assigned a list of 15-20 books on Epic e-library. Parents use email to register for Epic Parent Basic (Free) account, students can read 1 book each night on Epic e-library. Every month, students are responsible for:

- Complete the books on the assigned list, including the Quiz. Record in Online Reading Log the books read and return on the last Friday of the month according to the link. Students can read as much as they want after completing the assigned list of books.

- Introduce to teachers and friends about any book that you love through video presentations or articles (using English) with the following outline:

Step 1: Introduce yourself: Name – class – school;

Step 2: Direct to the book;

Step 3:   Introduce the title of the book, author, genre, main content (main content can be recounted according to understanding or re-reading the book);

Step 4:  State why recommend this book;

Step 5: State your feelings about the book;

Step 6: Suggest and thank the audience/readers.

Students who participate in the project and submit all papers will receive year-end encouragement points and receive a project activity certificate. Introductory articles with inspirational content, books on the right topic of the month, coherent and logical speaking/writing will be posted on the fanpage of Xanh Tue Duc Program/School and there will be incentive prizes.

Students who register to participate but do not perform assigned tasks on time will not be able to continue participating in the project from the time of failure to complete the tasks.
